UAE follows the federal system Each of the seven emirates have their own government alongside a national government. The Constitution outlines the legal and political framework of the country. The judicial system is a dual system with civil and Shari’a courts covering different areas of the law. The UAE has several free zones which are not required to follow UAE laws (except for criminal laws).
